We believe Christ has reconciled us both to God and to each other (Eph 2:11-22) and so church is not a place we go, rather a family we belong to.

Our Beliefs, Associations & Distinctives
We are linked to many other churches around the country through
the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches (EFCC) and wholeheartedly subscribe to their ‘Basis of Faith’ which you can read here.
Ross, our pastor, has an FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) background and is also part of the ‘FIEC Pastors Network’. You can read the Basis of Faith and Ethos Statements that he subscribes to here.
Ross trained for pastoral ministry at Oak Hill Bible College after serving as a ministry apprentice at Carey Baptist Church in Reading. Before coming to Alderholt, he served as an assistant pastor at an FIEC Church in Bedfordshire. Before training for ministry, he worked in IT services as a business consultant.

Bible Teaching
As the apostle Paul made clear, all Scripture is not only God-breathed, it is ‘profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness’ and the goal is ‘that the servant of God might be complete, equipped for every good work’ (2 Tim 3:16–17). The Bible is an inexhaustible resource that we at Alderholt Chapel seek to ground ourselves in.

Church Membership
Like many other churches in the UK, Alderholt Chapel is ‘Independent’. This means that membership is an important aspect of church life. In case you’re wondering, membership to a church is totally different to membership to a gym for example and far more like membership to a family.
Essentially membership is where an individual says “I am committed to this local church” and the church says “we are committed to you, to your spiritual growth and pastoral care”.
If you are (a) a follower of Jesus and (b) committed to making Alderholt Chapel your local church, then please speak to one of the Elders about membership.
